Our Syosset Campus occupies approximately 16,000 square feet in a suburban setting near major Long Island roadways. Four operating kitchens are equipped with standard equipment for commercial kitchens. Two attractive dining areas serve as student lounge space, as well as a simulated restaurant environment, allowing Culinary students to serve as part of the training program. Allied Health students study in clinical laboratories that simulate an outpatient facility, hospital, or a physician’s office. A library/resource room for the Culinary and Allied Health programs offers Internet-accessible computers, a collection of culinary books and periodicals, culinary videos, and a copier. A Career Services collection is also available to students during their job search and an LCD computer projection system with Internet access enhances classroom instruction throughout the campus.
“My experience at [Star Career Academy] was one of the most fulfilling and exciting experiences I’ve had in my lifetime so far. I was enrolled in the Professional Cooking program, which touched on a little bit of everything and over the course of six months, I gained a superior amount of knowledge, lifelong friends, and great memories that will stay with me forever.” – Elizabeth Altomare, Professional Cooking
“The second I walked in the door, I felt the great energy of the school and the teachers, and all the staff members felt like immediate family. The staff is so helpful! If you need anything from advice to help anyone of them is always there for you. Being here at [Star Career Academy] taught me an immense number of skills that I will be needing in my future. So far, I love my experience here and my family agrees with me that this was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life.” – Arielle L. Goldrath, Professional Cooking
“From the moment I stepped in the door, I felt welcomed and comfortable. The staff as a whole was very accommodating. I was lucky to have the opportunity to be taught by four different chefs, each having different techniques and strengths. The small class size allowed for substantial one on one time with the chefs. I felt that each chef was supportive and wanted to see me succeed. The knowledge and experience I gained will be put to use, whether professionally or at home, for the rest of my life.” – Liz Johnson, Professional Baking & Pastry Arts
“To all those thinking of going to culinary school, go to [Star Career Academy]. It is not going to put you in debt for the rest of your life when compared to a 4-year college or any other tri-state culinary school. You will never feel overwhelmed with a grandiose feeling of the school because you will have the support you need from your peers and your instructors. I promise that if you put all the effort you can while attending this school, you will pass with flying colors and enter the culinary world very happy and ready for all challenges.” – Danielle LaRosa (Professional Cooking), Assistant Culinary Production, Food Network

Star Career Academy is proud to be accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). In accordance with ACCSC policies, we have collected graduation and employment data++ for our graduates. Please click here to see this data for our Syosset campus.
++Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) Placement Rate Methodology
ACCSC requires schools to report the placement rate of graduates employed in a training related field. Graduates must have completed the program within 150% of the stated program length. The placement rate reported to ACCSC reflects the performance for a specific segment, campus and program for a specific time period.
Employment Rate = (Graduates Employed in Field*/Graduates Available for Employment**)
* Included in this number are students whose training allowed the graduate to maintain the employment position or supported the graduate’s ability to be eligible or qualified for advancement.
**ACCSC allows for the exclusion of the following categories of students from the placement rate calculation:
• Further Education: Graduates that are furthering their education in an accredited institution of higher education (postsecondary) on at least a half-time basis.
• Unavailable for Employment: Graduates who fall into one of the following categories: death, incarceration, active military service deployment, the onset of a medical condition that prevents employment, or international students who have returned to their country of origin.
