Our Syosset Campus occupies approximately 16,000 square feet in a suburban setting near major Long Island roadways. Four operating kitchens are equipped with standard equipment for commercial kitchens. Two attractive dining areas serve as student lounge space, as well as a simulated restaurant environment, allowing Culinary students to serve as part of the training program. Allied Health students study in clinical laboratories that simulate an outpatient facility, hospital, or a physician’s office. A library/resource room for the Culinary and Allied Health programs offers Internet-accessible computers, a collection of culinary books and periodicals, culinary videos, and a copier. A Career Services collection is also available to students during their job search and an LCD computer projection system with Internet access enhances classroom instruction throughout the campus.
“Hi, my name is Linda Barone, I am an August 2011 graduate from Star Career Academy. When I enrolled in Star, I was 59 years old and am presently 61 and working as a phlebotomist at Deborah Hospital in Brown Hills, ranked one of the top 50 cardiology hospitals in the country.
While at Star I had a great experience, made new friends that I continue to see, learned new skills, have a new found confidence and even learned some life lessons along the way. I learned not to doubt myself at any age as long as I am able, there is much I can do and learn.
George Elliot the poet once wrote…’IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO BE WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN.'”
